About HOLD Uganda
Holistic Initiative to Community Development- HOLD UGANDA LIMITED, is a Non-Government Organization that started in 2011 with the aim of empowering poor and vulnerable communities to become healthy and self-reliant. HOLD Uganda envisions being a result oriented Organization with a healthy and self-reliant community, through; Community Health System strengthening, Education Support, Economic Empowerment and Institutional Strengthening Programs. Integrating Gender inclusion, Children and Young People safeguarding and advocacy across all programs.
Our Head Office is located at Bufumba Village, Southern Division in Kamuli Municipality, Eastern Uganda and we are operating in Kamuli, Buyende, Jinja, Namutumba(Eastern Uganda) and Lira City in the northern part of Uganda. Our primary target beneficiaries include;
- Adolescent girls and young women.
- Youths.
- Orphans and Vulnerable Children
- Women.

Our ongoing projects
Agribusiness to realize Economic empowerment and nutrition outcomes
HOLD Uganda has supported Farmers in Kamuli and Buyende with. Highly productive sweet potatoes veins such as Narospot one, Naspot 8, Tanzania species which are high yielding for both home consumption and for sell. HOLD Uganda has supported establishment of CATs community agricultural trainers and works with extension workers to support farmers through onsite farm visits, mentorships and farm field schools approach
NI-YETU Youth Empowerment (SRHR and SGBV Prevention) Project
With Funding from Plan International- SIDA Grant, HOLD Uganda is implementing the NIYETU YOUTH Empowerment project in Buyende District, Eastern Uganda. The NI-YETU Phase II Youth Project is a youth social empowerment initiative which seeks to empower young people (10-24 years) with correct Knowledge, attitude and skills for reducing SGBV and improving their SRHR outcomes.
Joint Advocacy for Sexual Reproductive Health Rights – JAS Programme
With support from the Center for Health, Human Rights and Development (CEHURD)- SIDA Grant, HOLD Uganda is implementing The Joint Advocacy for Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights in Uganda (JAS Programme) in Kamuli District with the aim of contributing to the building a progressive Sexual Reproductive Health Rights advocacy movement in Uganda.
Lira City Youth Capacity Empowerment Project
HOLD Uganda with funding from Mastercard foundation through Children’s Rights and Violence Prevention (CRVP) Fund is implementing this project to skill and empower youth with the aim of mitigating the impact of Covid-19 among the youths.
The Peacecorps Health Program (Malaria, OVC- HIV/AIDS, MCH)
HOLD Uganda in partnership with Peacecorps is hosting Fellows from USA to support the implementation of health programs in Kamuli district.
UPMB-USAID Local Service Delivery Activity (LSDA ) for HIV/AIDS.
HOLD Uganda with funding from USAID through the Uganda Protestant Medical Bureau is implementing the LSDA – HIV/AIDs and TB in Kamuli district. The project is aimed at increasing access to HIV/AIDS and TB services.
Global Health Corp Fellowship Program
HOLD Uganda is one of the few GHC Fellows placement organizations in Uganda. The goal of this program is to mobilize a community of emerging leaders to build the movement for health equity by connecting outstanding young leaders (“fellows”) with organizations working on the front lines of the fight for global health equity.
We are honored that HOLD Uganda is among the organizations providing the professional development and training opportunity to GHC Fellows in Uganda, Under Community Health and Monitoring and Evaluation for effective delivery of Global Health Services.
